Enzyme Activities in Relationship to Age and Phosphorylated Intermediates in Energy Metabolism.

چکیده
A brief review of the presence and the age-associated changes of enzymatic activities of the lens metabolism is given. A consideration of the data on the activities of some enzymes of different animal species indicates that changes in lens metabolism related to age should be controlled by multiple sampling at intervals of aging over a wide age span rather than at fust two ages. Changes in the concentration of many phosphorylated intermediates of carbohydrate metabolism in the lens with increasing age are well known. In some cases the remits may be interpreted to indicate that there might be a "partial block" of glycolysis. The causes of such "partial block" and the experimental advance are discussed.

Carbon metabolism in spinach leaves as affected by leaf age and phosphorus and sulfur nutrition.
Spinach (Spinacea oleracea) plants were grown either continuously on complete nutrient solutions or for 2 weeks on media deficient in phosphate or sulfate. To characterize leaf carbohydrate metabolism, levels of phosphorylated intermediates, activities of enzymes involved in photosynthetic carbon metabolism, contents of soluble and acid hydrolyzable sugars were measured in leaves differing in a...
متن کاملThe Effects of Turmeric, Cinnamon, Ginger and Garlic Powder Nutrition on Antioxidant Enzymes’ Status and Hormones Involved in Energy Metabolism of Broilers during Heat Stress
This experiment was carried out to determine the effects of turmeric, cinnamon, ginger and garlic powder on mixed sex Cobb-500 broilers performance, serum antioxidant status, and serum thyroid hormones. Heat stresses were created by increasing ambient temperature to 32-34 ˚C from 12: a.m. to 16: p.m. during days 31-42 of the experiment. Blood serum samples were obtained from 6 broilers of each ...
متن کاملBiochemical properties and biological functions of the enzyme rhodanese in domestic animals
The enzyme rhodanese (thiosulfate: cyanide sulfurtransferase) is a ubiquitous enzyme and its activity ispresent in all living organisms. Many functions including cyanide detoxification, formation of iron-sulfurcenters and participation in energy metabolism have been attributed to this enzyme. The enzyme catalyzesthe transfer of a sulfur atom from sulfane containing compounds (such as thiosulfat...

Background : Adipokines are proteins secreted from adipose tissue that are involved in metabolism control. Adipsin is one of the adipokines that has a systemic role in lipid metabolism or physiological systems relating to energy balance. Serum levels are found to be associated with BMI, and insulin resistance in several studies. The aim of this study was to assess adipsins association with Po...
متن کاملThe Metabolizable Energy Content and Effect of Grape Pomace with or without Tannase Enzyme Treatment in Broiler Chickens
Two experiments were conducted to determine the chemical composition, metabolizable energy content and effect of grape pomace (GP) with or without tannase enzyme treatment on growth performance of broiler chickens. In experiment 1, the apparent metabolizable energy (AME) and apparent metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen (AMEn) of GP were determined as 2642.19 and 2641.08 kcal/kg, respect...
